About

Robert Möllard is a contemporary naive figurative painter based in Stockholm. He works in mixed media, most often acrylic and oilstick on canvas. His paintings are colorful and often infused with symbolism drawn from travel, memory, and the rituals he keeps, a pearl necklace worn every day for twelve years now, a glass of Chartreuse every Wednesday for thirteen years. He embraces the freedom that comes from not following expectations, believing that, through idiosyncrasy, one can build their own frameworks for meaning and value.

Robert Möllard, Ferrari and Helvete. Two paintings hung on a concrete wall above a long banquette in a restaurant, a large red canvas with a dark car on the left and a black figure with raised arms and a red head on the right.
